After being eliminated from America’s Got Talent 20 years ago, Jessica Sanchez, who is of Filipino and Mexican descent, is back and better than ever for the show’s 20th season.
It’s been a long journey for Jessica. After competing on the first season of America’s Got Talent, Jessica went on to compete on the 11th season of American Idol where she finished as the runner-up.
"Throughout the years, I kind of fell out of love of music because I was really young and I was so swayed by what everybody wanted me to be, who they wanted me to be, and so maybe it took me 20 years, but I know exactly who I am. I know exactly what I want. I'm excited to be back," Jessica explained.
Jessica also shared with the judges that she is now married and she recently found out that she’s expecting her first child.
For her audition, Jessica sang “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone. Watch her soaring rendition that earned her a standing ovation from the crowd and a Golden Buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara. This means Jessica will be guaranteed a spot in the live show.
