The Asian singer-songwriter girlies showed up for NPR Music’s beloved Tiny Desk concert series. Both Laufey and Olivia Rodrigo’s performances were released in the same week.

Laufey is of Chinese descent and her music is heavily influenced by jazz icons like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Laufey’s second album, “Bewitched,” was met with critical acclaim, earning her a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

This is Olivia Rodrigo’s second time performing for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk, although, her first actually in the office at NPR. Her 2021 concert was a “home” performance that saw her performing at a DMV. "I was saying earlier, I've never been starstruck by a room before,” Olivia said, as she is a huge fan of Tiny Desk. Olivia is of Filipino descent and she is a 3-time Grammy Award winner, including Best New Artist in 2022. She earned 6 more nominations for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
