Lisa Lu becomes the oldest person to be honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame star

At the age of 98-years-old, living legend Lisa Lu just became the oldest person to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Lisa is known for her roles in ‘The Last Emperor,’ ‘The Joy Luck Club,’ and ‘Crazy Rich Asians.’ The revered actress has also seen global success as evidenced by her three Golden Horse Awards—one of the most prestigious accolades celebrating Chinese-language cinema and often referred to as the “Chinese Oscars.”

Lisa also shared that she was initially offered the honor of a star in 1960 but declined. “I could not bear the thought of anyone walking on my name,” she said as the crowd laughed. “Today, at 98-years-old, I embrace the star as a testament to resilience and perseverance.”

“I am deeply honored to stand in support of the next generation of rising Asian actors, whose path I hope will shine even brighter,” Lisa said as she ended her acceptance speech.

Lisa’s star is placed next to the star of Anna May Wong, who was the first Asian woman to be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
