Mariah Carey reminisces about her song “Fantasy” being used in the film ‘Rush Hour’

Rush Hour starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker came out 27 years ago. The scene that everyone undoubtedly remembers is when Soo Yung (played by Julia Hsu) is in the car singing Mariah Carey’s song, “Fantasy.”

In a recent interview with Smooth Radio’s Angie Greaves, Mariah was asked what that moment meant to her.

“That’s still a moment for me. I love it,” Mariah said. “How can you turn away from that? She’s adorable!”

I love how we’re still talking about Soo Yung nearly three decades later!
