Young Mazino will portray Jesse in The Last of Us Season 2.

According to a report from Deadline, Young Mazino has been tapped to play Jesse in the second season of The Last of Us, a show based on the video game of the same name. Jesse is “a pillar of his community who puts everyone else’s needs before his own, sometimes at terrible cost,” the report says.

“Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him,” said Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us‘ co-creators, writers, executive producers and directors. “We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.”

Season 2 of The Last of Us will reportedly be shot in Vancouver and filming is set to start in February.

The first season of the show was a ratings hit for HBO, setting records for viewers and minutes streamed. The show also earned numerous accolades including 3 Golden Globe nominations and 24 Emmy nominations.
